Purpose of Establishment

The Animal Biotechnology Institute, established by the Department of Animal Science in 2003, aims to promote research in the field of animal biotechnolgy science and develop the livestock industry in Chungcheong area. It collaborates with governmental agencies and private organizations to solve difficulties in the livestock production sites of the region and rapidly provide new theories and technologies to them. In addition, it plays a leading role in incorporaitng field problems into education and thus developing the livestock industry in Chungbuk region through industry-university cooperation. It also actively conducts various projects on analysis of useful animal genes, production and distribution of cloned fertilized eggs, development of livestock feed, and livestock quality control, etc.
