Department of Art and Design
The Department of Art and Design aims to cultivate cultural and artistic professionals who enrich our lives. It consists of the Department of Fine Arts (with majors in Oriental Painting, Western Painting, and Sculpture) and the Department of Design. Based on these two fields, the curriculum focuses on connecting people with one another and with their environment, fostering the creation of new cultural values for the future society. The curriculum nurtures artistic imagination and scientific problem-solving skills while fostering creativity, insight, and leadership. The Department of Fine Arts supports practical education across both traditional and advanced media through specialized studios, including a 3D Studio, a Printmaking Studio, and Metal/Stone Sculpture Studios, in addition to major-specific studios. Meanwhile, the Department of Design provides a range of specialized labs, such as grade-specific design studios, a Metaverse Studio, and a 3D Studio, to facilitate professional learning and hands-on experiences. Notably, the Department of Fine Arts has produced professional artists leading the local cultural and artistic scene. It also offers extracurricular programs linked to the curriculum, enabling students to engage directly with cultural and artistic sites both within and beyond the region. The Department of Design actively participates in interdisciplinary programs such as the "Venture Business Convergence Major" and the "Smart Design Convergence Major," while also leading a specialized micro-major program in "UX/UI Design Applications."
