Research Center for Bioresource and Health (RCBH), established in June 2001, aims to contribute to strengthening the regional industrial base and revitalizing the local economy by developing research technologies related to the bioresource and health industry with Osong Life Science Complex, based on the organic cooperation system of industry, university, research, and local government in Chungbuk, and also developing biological new medicine and long-term functional foods, the core strategic industries of Chungbuk.

Its detailed objectives are as follows:
  • Developing research technologies related to the bioresource and health industry and revitalizing fundamental and applied research
  • Transfering core technologies to industries and revitalizing the regional industrial base and economy
  • Fostering outstanding experts, conducting on-site trainings, and developing retraining programs

  • Developing and commercializing functional resource plants for health foods
  • Exploring and analyzing cancer metastasis inhibitors

Exclusive research

  • Gene theraphy for hypertension and in vivo therapeutic protein delivery system using lentiviral vector system
  • Toxicity and efficacy of functional foods and new pharmaceuticals
  • Animal bioreactor production techniques for bioactive substance production

Industry-University Cooperation Plan

  • All research programs are based on the principle of participation of companies, and aim to provide and commercialize research devices related to the bioresource and health industry through industry-university cooperation.
  • Fundamental programs consist of future-oriented technology development research projects that can be applied in general among industrial companies, and special programs consist of technology transfer research projects that can be pratically used by companies.
  • Local industries can advance their technologies, solve difficult technology problems, and build industry-university cooperation through on-site visits and training and technology transfer.
  • Corporate participants in fundamental or special programs are encouraged to use open labs, analysis instruments, and an information center.
  • Bioresource and health industry information is provided to local industries.
