College of Natural Sciences
The College of Natural Sciences was established in 1978 with the goal of “developing creative expert talents” that can lead the development of studies and make contribution to various industrial advancements through research and education in the regional and national foundation sciences and advanced science fields. Currently, the college is participating in the 4th stage of the BK21 Project and Regional Innovation Strategy (RIS) based on regional university cooperation, and operating an Innovative Talent Development Education Program in Foundation Science Studies and Industry-demand Based Education Courses (e.g. Celltrion Pharm. Track), developing outstanding workforces in academic-industry cooperation and advanced sciences through the only Advanced Science Research Equipment Development Expert Project in Korea. Every year, the college hosts academic contests to identify outstanding research papers of undergraduate and graduate students to give them a sense of pride in their studies and interest in their fields of studies. In addition, the college also hosts an annual “Science Day” for local and university students to foster a better understanding of natural sciences in the age of the 4th Industrial Revolution. With organic academic-industry cooperation with businesses and national institutions, the college is striving to develop expert and technical talents and enhance employment rate.
