The Green Energy Research Institute was established in January, 2009. It aims to establish the role and the status of CBNU in national policy of the green energy industry by playing a leading role in the specialized green energy technology field and fostering professionals. And it supports planing and strategy-making of long-term and short-term projects in green energy industry in Chungbuk, and carries out research, development, and related projects in the following 6 sectors suitable for Chungbuk area: solar energy, LEDs, electric IT, hydrogen fuel cells, energy storage, and geothermal energy.
