Medical Research Information Center

The Medical Research Information Center aims to improve the technical level of medical research field and reinforce fundamental technologies necessary to create a healthy society by generating and processing research information on medical science areas and providing data to users as soon as possible. The center also stimulates the network among researchers, contributes to the improvement of research environment, and serves as an important information center in the local community.

Major Projects

Research projects

It carries out research on development and construction of a medical thesaurus of Korea, research on a search system, surveys on the actual users of information service by the center and other medical institutions.

Education and training projects

It holds academic conferences on the Internet to help professionals communicate more conveniently and easily using information technology, and supports medical education projects by producing various medical education animations and textbooks with Korean Academy of Medical Sciences and The Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Information service

Its Korean Medical Database (KMbase) is a representative academic information service, which provides the largest bibliographic and abstract information in Korea related to biomedical sciences, including primary information services, processing information services, and health information services.
