The Institute of Humanities aims to contribute to the development of human culture, ethnic culture, and regional culture through research in various fields of humanities such as language, literature, history, philosophy, religion, aesthetics, art, archaeology, and anthropology, identifying trends in the humanities at home and abroad, promoting cooperation with other research institutes, and supporting humanities researchers.

Major Projects

The institute conducts and supports research in various fields of humanities such as literature, language, philosophy, history, archaeology, aesthetics, etc. In order to revitalize humanities research, it identifies and introduces trends in humanities research at home and abroad, supports individual researchers through cooperation with other related research institutes, and strives to foster the next generation of humanities researchers, as well as plays a leading role in the promotion of national culture through the discovery, introduction, transmission, and development of local culture. It also tries to introduce and use the results of domestic and international research in the humanities on campus, and to inform its research findings at home and abroad. In addition, it holds academic lectures related to various fields of the humanities and conferences centered on professional societies, and carries out external contract research projects. It publishes Journal of Humanities twice a year, and holds international academic conferences at least once a year. It also often publishes books specializing in the humanities and conducts local cultural research and releases the results.
